Website redesign for a financial solutions company in the Dominican Republic.

CardNET Website Redesign

September 2020

In the fall of 2020 CardNET, one of the leading companies offering financial solutions in the Dominican Republic, reached out for a website redesign. The goal of the project was to communicate a modern and simple brand by rebuilding their website from scratch, refreshing its look and feel, and updating the company’s products and services online.

The client wanted its customers to have an easy and smooth user experience, expressing their need for use of heavy image and animations over text.

I was the leading designer of the project, with the help of 2 graphic designers, one of them being an illustrator. I was in charge of conducting research, sketching, wireframing and designing. After finishing the wireframes and 2 webpage designs, I assigned a couple of pages to the other graphic designer and asked for icon and vector illustrations when needed.

The project was expected to be completed within 12 weeks.

The initial steps consisted on research, looking at brand competitor websites as well as other references. After collecting data and noting which affordances would best fit the new site, I began the sketching process.

The next step was to build the wireframes using Figma, which would be the first deliverable for the client.

The client had already restructured the main menu, placing their services or “solutions” section under 3 categories: online, physical, and other solutions. Initially, each category consisted of no more than 4 products, so I displayed them with horizontal “cards” that fit the entire screen. Later on, the amount of services changed.

Each category had its own webpage where products were displayed in big cards and a conceptual picture with the purpose of easing the product navigation for customers.

Each solution webpage, no matter the category, consisted of a banner with the title and an image. The layout underneath varies per product.
